About me

Chi sono - About meMy name’s Alessandra, passionate traveller and professional tour leader. I’m an outgoing person and have always been fascinated by foreign languages and cultures, so I couldn’t be happier to do something that allows me to stay active, see wonderful places and always meet new people: to me, this is simply the greatest job in the world.
I’m also a qualified travel designer, a job that I have started to perform pushed by my love for planning and my desire to help others – who might not have much time or be willing to dedicate it to researching – not give up on the trip they dream of.

My life-long motto is that, regardless of how careful one can be about expenses, there are only two things always worth spending money on: good food and travelling! Every trip, whether far away or to a destination not too distant from home, has indeed gifted me something, or opened my mind about a certain topic, or just generally taught me something new (even the “mere” discovery of a custom I didn’t know about).

I mostly travel with my life – and adventure – companion, sometimes with friends, others on my own… as long as, whomever I’m with, they can bear with my manic organization (and, very frequently, my sudden detours whenever curiosity strikes) and my obsession to take pictures of pretty much everything. I love the idea of always planning new getaways, to press pause on the daily routine for a few days or whole weeks and set sail to discover different cities, landscapes, stories and flavors.

I would like to think of this space as a virtual environment to promote discussions among passionate travellers, where not just to read my ideas but rather, if you would like to, share your own and exchange suggestions about the most unforgettable experiences… whether unforgettable for the good or, alas, for the bad.

5 random things to know about me:
  • I love movies and TV series, and I’m a compulsive book shopper – regularly buying more than I could possibly read;
  • If I could pick three superpowers for myself, those would be the possibility to travel through time and space, telekinesis and the ability to understand and speak all the languages in the world;
  • I like board-games (although I’m extremely competitive at those!) and “murder mystery dinner” kind of entertainments… among my favorite birthdays of the past few years I would indeed put the weekend based in Belfast and dedicated to the exploration of the locations of  Game of Thrones and the evening in Wadi Rum desert animated by our Bedouin hosts on the same level as that afternoon I spent playing (and successfully solving!) an escape room with my friends, followed by a relaxed pizza-based dinner together;
  • I’m not a fan of the seaside, I simply have an inner dislike for the idea of just lying still and sunbathing, however healthy it might be… I must have had some bad experiences as a kid! So you will hardly find any suggestion for the best beaches in X around here;
  • My first trip abroad has been in England, then I have lived for a few months in London as an adult, and for this and dozens of other reasons this country and this city are among the exceptions to my “give priority to something new” rule when I plan a trip: I have left a piece of my heart there, so I feel the need to go back at regular intervals.

I’m not sure what this jumble of information says about me, but anyway this is me in a nutshell 🙂
Enjoy the reading and have a nice journey!
